Character Profile: Yung Tarn (ย่างถ่าน): The Tarnished Rapper of the Lands Between

Lore:

In a twisted timeline where the Elden Ring shattered not just reality but also the rap game, Yung Tarn (ย่างถ่าน) emerges from the ashes—a rapper with bars hotter than dragonfire and a mixtape that could make even the Two Fingers snap along. A former Tarnished of no renown, Yung Tarn roamed the Lands Between, Maidenless and spitting freestyles to wandering merchants and spectral animals. Despite his grim fate, he vowed to make everyone respect his rhymes and reclaim his honor, one diss track at a time.

Background:

Yung Tarn’s journey to fame began like any other Tarnished—getting bodied by the Tree Sentinel, clutching the air dramatically, and questioning life choices. But after countless attempts at becoming Elden Lord, he realized the true path to power wasn’t through runes or incantations but through the power of sick beats and fire verses.

Instead of wielding a blade, Yung Tarn wields a Microphone of Rhymeflame +10, enchanted with the power to roast enemies with scorching insults. His Boom Bap Incantations can cause Bleed damage over time—because once you get dissed by Yung Tarn, the wounds run deep.

Signature Moves:

  • The Maidenless Mixup: Drops a verse so cold it makes invaders lose HP out of sheer embarrassment.
  • Ash of War: Diss Track (Parry): Perfectly times a lyrical counter that reflects all damage back to the attacker while delivering a humiliating roast.
  • Golden Verse: Buffs himself and nearby allies by hyping them up—raises attack power and morale.
  • Runes & Rhymes: Converts runes into mixtape sales. Profitable, but deadly when pirated.

Album: "Maidenless No More"

After grinding through countless bosses and spitting bars at every chance, Yung Tarn’s debut mixtape, “Maidenless No More,” finally drops. The cover art features Yung Tarn flexing in front of a shattered Erdtree, blinged out with Elden Bling and surrounded by fainting Finger Maidens.

Tracklist:

  1. Limgrave to Fame
  2. Rune Hustlin’
  3. Ashes of Bars
  4. Get Good or Get Got
  5. Dodge, Roll, Spitfire (feat. Ranni the Witch)
  6. Blaidd’s Howl
  7. Melina in My Dreams
  8. Two Fingers Up

Character Questline:

Players encounter Yung Tarn freestyling in a crumbling ruin. He’s humble at first but boasts about his quest to drop the greatest mixtape in the Lands Between. However, he needs inspiration from the Lost Bars—legendary verses scattered throughout the world.

Deliver the Lost Bars to Yung Tarn, and he’ll record “Maidenless No More.” Upon completion, he becomes a summonable spirit, dropping sick verses during boss fights that debuff enemies with Lyrical Shame—a status effect that halves defense and confidence.

Alternate Ending:

Should the player betray Yung Tarn and steal his mixtape, he invades as Yung Tarn, the Tarnished Rap God, blasting the player with rhythm-infused sorceries and disses that make Radagon's incantations look like nursery rhymes. Defeat him, and you’ll get The Mic of the Spittin’ Tarnished, a unique weapon with the skill Bars of the Erdtree.

Verdict:

Yung Tarn may never become Elden Lord, but with enough lyrical prowess, he might just become the First Rap Lord of the Lands Between. The Maidenless days are over—because clout is the true power in the Lands Between, and Yung Tarn’s mixtape is the new Elden Ring.
