SPKZMC talk:Places/Oasis

🏗️ The Founding of Oasis: A Totally Professional Conversation Between Two Architects

Scene: Channel 2, fresh world, untouched terrain. Califrog and MoNoLidThZ are standing on a hill, looking over the vast, breathtaking biome generated by the Terralith datapack.

Califrog: Wow, is this Minecraft 2.0? This world generation is insane! But why does it feel like I’m watching a PowerPoint presentation? I have a 4070 and an i9, and it’s still lagging like a potato on life support!

MoNoRi-Chan: Relax. Beta 2.3.0 of Distant Horizons added Server LOD generation. The map is still rendering on the server and streaming to your client.

Califrog: Ohhh, I see… So basically, I’m just watching the game slowly figure out how to exist?

MoNoRi-Chan: Pretty much. It’s like Minecraft is trying to remember where it left its keys.

Califrog: Hey, look at this area! It looks really nice.

MoNoRi-Chan: Bet the real estate value here would go crazy if players start developing it.

Califrog: Yeah, obviously this area is probably in high demand… so I’m taking it for myself.

MoNoRi-Chan: Bro, that sounds like frontrunning.

Califrog: So? I’m the Royal Decree. If anyone wants to complain, they can go petition my secretary. (Spoiler: There is no secretary.)

🏛️ The Official Claiming Process (Totally Not Bureaucratic At All) Califrog: Can you protect this area?

MoNoRi-Chan: Bro, you have the same admin privileges as me. Why don’t you do it yourself?

Califrog: I… might have forgotten how to do it.

MoNoRi-Chan: (Sighs, types command compliantly) /rg d Oasis Califrog

📢 By the order of the Royal Decree, I shall name thee 721x384x618 region as Oasis Special Administrative Region.

Califrog: Perfect. I want this entire area to stay as natural as possible. No bridges, no excessive landscaping, just raw beauty.

MoNoRi-Chan: So basically… I’ll have to build walkways underwater?

Califrog: Exactly.

MoNoRi-Chan: (Stares at Califrog, internally processing the future pain of underwater construction.)

Califrog: Good talk. Now get to work.

📜 The Birth of Oasis: What We Learned Today

  1. Terrains like this don’t exist in vanilla, and they lag like hell.
  2. If you see prime real estate first, just claim it. (Capitalism, baby.)
  3. The best way to keep a landscape natural is to force people to suffer through underwater walkways.
  4. Admins forget commands too.
  5. The Royal Decree is both a government and a real estate agency.

And so, the first city of Channel 2 was officially established. Project Oasis had begun. 🚀

Frontrunning

🏛️ The Ethical Paradox of the Royal Decree’s Land Claims

"The first rule of anarchy: There are no rules. The second rule: Unless you write them yourself."

📜 The Great Land Claim of 721x384x618

With the passage of the Homesteading Act under MoNoRi-Chan’s Second Amendment to the SMP Constitution, a system of land grants, claims, and property rights was officially established. Players were free to stake their claim, build their settlements, and shape the world—as long as it wasn’t vital infrastructure built by the Royal Decree.

And yet, before a single settler could place their first block, the Royal Decree itself made the largest claim in the server’s history:

🏛️ 721x384x618 blocks, now known as Oasis – Special Administrative Region.

Under the same law meant to promote fairness, the entire area was immediately protected under Royal Decree jurisdiction, with zero competition.

📍 Is This Justified? Let’s Examine the Ethics

✅ The Argument for Legitimacy:

  • The Land Needed Protection – Without early intervention, random players could have ruined the landscape before it could be developed.
  • Vital Infrastructure Clause – The Homesteading Act explicitly states that vital server infrastructure cannot be claimed by individual players.
  • First Come, First Served – The Royal Decree simply played by the rules—and happened to be first.

❌ The Argument for Ethical Gymnastics:

  • It’s the Single Largest Land Claim Ever – While regular players get 100x100 plots, the Royal Decree reserved 721x384x618.
  • Selective Rule Enforcement – If a regular player "reserved land for preservation," they'd be called a land hoarder.
  • Frontrunning at its Finest – Califrog called dibs on prime real estate before anyone else even knew it existed.

📝 The Fine Print of Power

Under Article I, Section 1.5 of the Homesteading Act:

"The only restriction to the Claimant is they cannot claim a piece of vital infrastructure built up by The Royal Decree."

By declaring the Oasis region as 'vital infrastructure,' the Royal Decree effectively preempted any potential disputes.

What? You wanted to claim this land? Sorry, buddy, it’s already been designated as an “important cultural and administrative zone.” Try your luck with that swamp biome over there.

⚖️ The Ironic Takeaway: Anarchy with a Dash of Bureaucracy

The Royal Decree set the rules. The Royal Decree followed the rules. The Royal Decree also bent the rules to benefit itself.

🚨 "Admin Abusing?" – Not really. There were only two people on the server at the time.

⚖️ "Unfair?" – Maybe. But anarchy means you play smart, not fair.

🏛️ "A Brilliant Power Move?" – Absolutely.

So, while the Royal Decree technically played fair, it also proved an undeniable truth about power:

The ones who write the rules always know how to win.
