Cheating the System : CalifrogMC Builds Its Own Cross-Server Inventory & Progression Solution

In our pursuit of providing the best possible experience for our players, CalifrogMC embarked on a journey to implement cross-server inventory synchronization. Our initial research led us to William's HuskSync[2], a promising plugin priced at £11.99. While the plugin offered a potential solution, we couldn't resist the urge to delve deeper into the technology behind it. (translation: We deployed Jenkins and Testing it on our servers)

The Open-Source Advantage:

HuskSync's Apache-2.0 license[3] presented an intriguing opportunity. Rather than shelling out for a pre-built solution, we decided to leverage our technical expertise and build our own cross-server inventory synchronization system. This approach promised greater control, customization, and potential cost savings.

Overcoming Technical Hurdles:

The road to implementing our custom solution was not without its challenges. Upgrading the backend Paper server from 1.20.6 to 1.21 was a time-consuming step in ensuring compatibility with our new system. While this process required significant technical resources and spending time upgrading plugins, the long-term benefits far outweigh the initial investment.

A Brighter Future for CalifrogMC Players:

With the successful implementation of our custom cross-server inventory synchronization solution, players can now seamlessly transfer their hard-earned items between servers. This groundbreaking achievement marks a significant milestone for CalifrogMC, demonstrating our commitment to providing innovative and player-centric features.

We believe that this approach not only enhances the player experience but also showcases the power of open-source development and the ingenuity of our development team.

Developer's Notes

I'd say, this guy sells ready-made house that comes with technical support but the blueprint is also available for free;

Can't complain about no warranties for using my own DIY engine running on moonshine, but if it works, it work.

For those who are brave enough to dupe items on our servers, go ahead and break things :)
