Grassstation: 24-Hour Moving Operations

The Grassstation Shop in front of Klong 4 Road was thriving as usual—until the day of the marijuana business license renewal. A day like any other, until it wasn’t. The paperwork was supposedly in order—or was it? No one really knew for sure.

Then came the inspection. A surprise raid, like something out of an action movie, but starring bureaucrats instead of secret agents. The so-called "feds"—despite Thailand not having a federal government—descended upon the shop. Ministry of Interior, Department of Public Health, Department of Provincial Administration. Everyone was here. It was like an unwanted family reunion, except this family was here to check licenses instead of exchange pleasantries.

The first order of business: checking everyone’s ID to ensure they were of legal age to purchase cannabis. That’s when trouble struck. A familiar face—a 19-year-old motorcycle taxi regular—was caught in the net. The legal age for cannabis? 20. The kid panicked, blurting out his confession before anyone even questioned him. He had been lying all along. The collective disappointment was palpable.

After that, they checked MoNoRi-Chan's ID. Without hesitation, he pulled out a driver's license—but it was a California one. The Ministry of Interior officer raised an eyebrow and asked if MoNoRi-Chan was an alien. Rolling his eyes, he wordlessly produced his Thai National ID card. "What kind of idiot thinks I immigrated from the U.S. just to be here?" he muttered under his breath.

Next, the Public Health Department went through the paperwork. Everything seemed fine until—wait a minute—the address on the business license was wrong. That was it. The shop was, technically speaking, unlawful. And so, with little room to argue, Grassstation was shut down.

Igq, the business owner, rushed over from another shop, hoping to negotiate. In the end, no one was arrested. The shop, however, had to close. And the underage rider? He was ordered to report to the authorities for a 15-day drug-free verification process.

That night, the Grassstation team huddled together for an emergency meeting. Three employees were on the brink of losing their jobs. The only solution? Operation: Relocation.

The team scoured the area, determined to find a new location. They didn’t have time to waste. After much deliberation, they settled on Klong 4 Mueang Mai Market (Klong 4 Fresh Market). The lease was signed. It was time to move.

What followed was a grueling, all-hands-on-deck effort. Movers, HVAC engineers, and staff worked tirelessly, hauling inventory and equipment trip by trip. By the time the dust settled, they had a new home—a location with one unexpected perk: food was now easier to get. The market offered an abundance of choices, a silver lining in the chaos.

This time, they were determined to do it by the book. No more smoking in the retail area. Instead, the co-working space was moved to the second floor, making it private and discreet—an important factor when applying for a new marijuana business license.

With inspection day looming once again, one thing was clear: Grassstation wasn’t just surviving. It was evolving to Green Land.
